Family functioning is an important aspect of family environment that impacts the physical, social and emotional health of its members. The aim of this study was to investigate the mediating role of resiliency in the relationship between the image of God and family function. For this purpose, 386 teachers in Southern Khorasan were selected using multi-stage sampling method. For data collection Image of God Questionnaire (Lawrence, 1997) Resilience Scale (Conner & Davidson, 2003) and McMaster family functioning scale (1983) were used for statistical analysis. The results showed that there is a significantly positive relationship between all subscales of image of God with resiliency and a negative relationship with unhealthy family functioning (P>0.01). Multiple regression analysis showed that family functioning is predictable by the image of God and accounted for 19.3 percent of family functions. Meanwhile, according to the results of stepwise regression, three subscales of presence, kindness and benevolence explain this variance. The results of the main research hypothesis, examined according to Baron and Kenny (1986) also showed that resilience partially mediates the relationship between each of the three subscales of presence, kindness and benevolence and family functioning.
